Getting to know Minnetonka Beach
A residential peninsula
The City of the Village of Minnetonka Beach occupies a peninsula on Lake Minnetonka. Its municipal description emphasizes a primarily residential community, with Lafayette Club and St. Martin’s Church among the exceptions. That setting is a useful starting point for understanding the city, but it does not tell you whether a particular home has shoreline, dock rights or public-water access.
Plan around the actual address
Compare the property’s location with the places you use regularly. Test your own routes at the times you expect to travel rather than relying on a fixed commute estimate. Ask separately about public access, private easements and any membership-dependent amenities.
Explore with the right expectations
The Dakota Rail Regional Trail provides a regional connection through Minnetonka Beach. Check the operator’s alerts before planning a continuous ride. Lafayette Club is private and serves members and guests; its presence nearby does not grant unrestricted access. Use the companion community, parks and school guides to separate local opportunities from property-specific rights.
