Getting to know Wayzata
On Wayzata Bay
The city places Wayzata on Wayzata Bay at the northeast of Lake Minnetonka and identifies Lake Street and Wayzata Boulevard as business districts. Those two areas provide useful reference points when exploring how a home relates to the waterfront and everyday services.
A changing public waterfront
The city reports that Panoway’s second phase, including the Lakewalk between Broadway Avenue and the Depot, was completed in June 2024. That does not mean every later Panoway project is finished. Distinguish completed public space from future plans when comparing older descriptions with a present visit.
Look at the actual routines
Try the trips you expect to make rather than relying on a fixed commute estimate. Confirm property-specific lake access and school assignment separately. Wayzata’s mailing address, municipal boundary and school-district boundary are not interchangeable. Current city resources and district enrollment tools are more useful for those decisions than undated demographic figures or promotional rankings.
