Different ways to explore the Orono area
A public golf option
Orono Orchards Public Golf Course is a nine-hole course near Lake Minnetonka’s north shore. Its official history gives an opening date of July 4, 1924. Use the city’s current tee-time, rate and operating information for a visit; the historical opening date does not establish current availability.
A garden has different rules
Noerenberg Memorial Gardens is a public garden on Crystal Bay managed by Three Rivers. The operator prohibits pets, food and drinks, swimming, and boat launching or docking. It should not be described as a picnic beach or a boat-access point. Its Wayzata postal address should not alone be used to determine city boundaries.
Match the destination to your plans
Check the operator’s current information before leaving, particularly for seasonal hours or reservations. Nearby amenities can serve very different purposes. A useful community comparison looks at the activities and routes you would actually use without assuming that every venue is open, accessible or available on the same terms.
